Dean accepts briefs in a broad range of matters, with particular focus on criminal and administrative law.

Before coming to the Bar, Dean practised at the ACT Government Solicitor, acting in a range of public law and regulatory matters, including planning and construction, revenue and general administrative review. He has worked in the criminal courts and provided legal services to government at both Commonwealth and Territory levels.

Prior to that, Dean worked as a solicitor at Legal Aid ACT in the Criminal Practice and General Practice. Subsequently, he was the solicitor with carriage of the Eastman litigation.

He has experience in criminal law, administrative review, family violence and personal protection orders, mental health and guardianship matters, employment and general civil disputes.
