Claire is a skilled and experienced advocate with a particular interest in public law, criminal law and equity.
Prior to being called to the Bar in 2026, Claire practiced at the ACT Director of Public Prosecutions for 8 years, most recently as a Crown Advocate. She has substantial experience appearing in contested hearings in the ACT Supreme Court and ACT Magistrates Court, including prosecutions involving drug offences, family and personal violence offences, sexual offences, and dishonesty offences including fraud and money laundering.
Claire has appeared in numerous Supreme Court sentencing proceedings, bail applications, and pre-trial applications, including matters involving complex tendency and coincidence evidence. She has appeared in jury trial and appellate proceedings.
Before joining the DPP, Claire worked in litigation team at the ACT Government Solicitor.
Claire accepts briefs in all areas, with a focus on public and administrative law, professional disciplinary proceedings, equity, family law and criminal law.
Claire holds a Masters of Law in International Law, a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, a Bachelor of Arts, all from the Australian National University.
