Joseph has 10 years’ experience in civil and commercial litigation in Malaysia and Australia. Born and raised in Malaysia, Joseph calls Australia home. He graduated from the University of Tasmania (UTAS) with LLB (Hons) and Masters of Law by Research (LLM) in 1999 and 2012 respectively. An Honorary Associate of the UTAS Faculty of Law between 2013 and 2017, Joseph taught the subjects of Corporations Law, Equity and Legal Theory in this faculty during this period. Prior to joining the Burley Griffin Chambers, he practised at the Tasmanian Bar.

Currently undertaking his PhD in Law at the Australian National University, Joseph’s thesis title is ‘Reconceptualising the National Interest Regulation of Chinese State-owned Enterprises Investing in Australia’. He is proficient in Mandarin and Malay, both at advanced level.
